There are several beautiful neighborhoods and homes in Massachusetts. Often, as I see them, I just want to go in and look at the architecture, the design, the layout and the décor. But often, in the décor, I am disappointed. There are several ways to ruin your décor, and lessen the impact of your beautiful home.
Ready made drapes, roman shades and window treatments just don’t fit right. Let’s face it, perhaps there used to be a standard window size, but there just isn’t any more. With all the custom building and designs in homes today, windows are built to fit. So should your window treatments be custom made to fit your windows.
Plastic Blinds with visible mountings is another great big no no! When you have beautiful wood and expansive molding around your doors, windows and ceilings, this is not the time or place to introduce plastic. If it is blinds your are looking for, Faux Wood or Wood blinds are the only alternative. Continue the dramatic statement of your architecture and let the eye have a seamless visual journey around your room.
Synthetic fabrics do not look right in beautiful homes. With the variety of fabrics available such as silks, brocade and linen, why use a fabric that will lose its shape on your beautiful windows. Over time, well made fabrics hold their shape and color much better than their synthetic counterparts.
You spent a lot of money on your home. It is also your sanctuary and where you invite friends. Don’t ruin what you are trying to accomplish with the wrong products. Value is what you get out of something over the life of the product. Put value into your décor with help from Window Treatment Showplace.
